1. CENTRAL LAFOURCHE: The Trojans have been behind by double-digits for two-straight weeks. Both times, they rallied and found a way to win. That has to count for something. Coach Keith Menard has his boys believing in the magic in Mathews, and that magic is a powerful thing.

2. THIBODAUX: After losing in Week 1, the Tigers bounced back in a big way, walloping a very good East Ascension squad on Friday. I’d like to see a little more passing offense from the Tigers going forward, but right now, their running game is darn good, too.

3. VANDEBILT: To finis” 0″e yard short of overtime against Central Lafourche isn’t too bad. But to be ahead by one point AND have the football with 2:30 to go isn’t a good look. The Terriers have to dose the door on that one to reach the next level.

4. TERREBONNE: The Tigers are quietly 2-0, scoring consecutive blowouts over inner-city rivals. The Tigers have a ground game that s tough to deal with. They should match up quite nicely on Friday with powerful Assumption.

5. CCA: The Lions are now 2-0 on the season after a hard-fought win over Hannan. CCA doesn’t have the bodies that other schools in the state do But those kids sure have heart. They’re not an easy out for anyone they play.
