Tarpons hopeful for renewed success in 2018

It’s not every day you can go behind the doors of stunning private residences in the Houma area. With homes seemingly straight out of the pages of a glossy magazine, the Houma Tour of Homes newly constructed homes as well se recently remodeled residences.
Hosted by St. Matthew’s Episcopal School the school elected to host the Houma Tour of Homes event as a fundraiser as well as an attraction for the community. After receiving suggestions to host such an event and tips on how to organize it the committee attempted to implement as many recommendations as possible.
“One of the suggestions WAS to focus on one neighborhood each year. This allows the guests to tour the homes more easily, rather than having to drive all over town.” said Tiffany T. Adams, event co-chair.
In its inaugural year, tour homes were selected from Ellendale Country Club. Four beautiful homes, each unique in architectural style and interior, will provide inspiration to visitors from spaces that are lived in and loved. Enjoy meeting the homeowners while touring their homes and receive a complimentary Houma Tour of Homes Resource Catalogue featuring snapshots from the homes on tour. The Tour serves not only to benefit the school, but the homeowner looking to build or remodel by giving them fresh ideas and concepts.
A pro-tour kick off event will allow guests a chance for a more private visit with the homeowners and insight into their personal stories and favorite features of their homes.
“To kick of the event a Host Toast will be held at one of the private residences on the tour. Guests will enjoy conversation with the homeowners featured on the tour as well as wine, beer and hors d’beuvres,” said Bonnie Rushing, event co-chair.
The kick off event will held on Friday, September 14 from 5:30pm. to 7:30pm. Only 100 tickets will be sold to the Host Toast event. Tickets are $75 in advance at bostoast.eventbrite.com.
The Houma Tour of Homes event will be held from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, September 15. Tickets are $25 in advance at houmatoureventbrite.com or $50 at the event Please email houmatourofhomes@gmail.com with any questions.
