The Louisiana Special Olympics held its 2015 State Summer Games on May 22 in Hammond – a great day of competion for all of the athletes involved. The Times’ staff photographer Jose Delgado was on hand and got these action shots.


Both coaches, spectators and officials encourage event participants during the long jump event at the 2015 Louisiana Special Olympics’ State Summer Games.

The 2015 State Summer Games’ Opening Ceremonies provided competitors a chance to share their experiences with those in attendance. The three-day event took place at Southeastern’s campus.

Folks with the Special Olympics say that the warm, fun-loving atmosphere created in these games are second to none. Coaches and officials encourage the athletes throughout their endeavors.
