Vernis Marie Crochet, 91, a native of Leeville, La., and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died Friday Oct. 23, 2015.

Mrs. Crochet was an avid quilter and enjoyed working outdoors with her flowers. She was always willing to offer love and support to others, and was a tireless and devoted advocate to the children of the MacDonell Methodist Orphanage Center for 40 years as an employee and volunteer. Mrs. Crochet was a member of Bayou Blue Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Enos Crochet; son, Wade (Mary) Crochet; sisters, Martha M. Billiot, and Felicia M. Layus; and brother, Vincent (Mable) Liner.


Burial is at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery in Bayou Blue.
