Chackbay man accused of having sex with teenage girl
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a Chackbay man who allegedly had sexual contact with a teenage girl. Jace Wempren, 20. feces multiple charges following the investigation.
During the early morning hours of December 19.2016. juvenile detectives began searching for a runaway teenage girl in the Thibodaux area. Detectives found the girl later that afternoon. Through investigation. detectives learned Jace Wempren had reportedly been, with the juvenile while she was missing On Wednesday. December 26. detectives met with Wempren and questioned him about his involvement. Wempren told detectives he knew the Girl was an underage teen. He admitted to assisting the girl in running away from her home on December 19 and to having inappropriate sexual contact with her on that date. He further admitted to picking the juvenile up from school on several occasions without permission of her parents, and he admitted they had sexual contact on more than one encounter.
Wempren was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Canter in Thibodaux. He was booked with Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile, two counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and six counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. His bond is set at $10,500.
The teenage girl was charged as a runaway and placed at the Lafourche Parish Juvenile Justice Facility.
Suspect arrested for Christmas Day armed robbery
Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on December. 25. 2018. Christmas Day. at approx. 3:30 am. Terrebonne Parish deputies and detectives responded to an armed robbery of a person at the Ramada lnn. 1400 West Tunnel Blvd. Hon ma. La.
Upon arrival at this location deputies were informed that the suspects) has already fled the scene.
Then, during this investigation deputies learned that a 84 year old Houma man was the victim of the robbery. The victim allegedly met the female suspect on a social media website called ”Skip The Game’ that is used to solicit female escort service.
The victim and suspect communicated through this social media website in which the victim agreed to pay for sex. The victim agreed to be picked up at a predetermined location on Grand Caillou Rd.
The victim wan then picked up by two females and driven to the Ramada Inn where everyone entered the hotel room. After entering the hotel room a male suspect, who was waiting in the bathroom, entered the hotel room with a hanriguu. The victim was robbed at gunpoint of his wallet and cell phone. The suspect(s) then left the hotel room and fled the scene in a green colored apart utility vehicle.
The suspect vehicle information was disseminated statewide to Law Enforcement Agencies, Then, approx. 5:20 am. TPSO received information that the New Iberia Police Department conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle.
TPSO detectives traveled to New Iberia and continued this investigation.
During the investigation the victim’s cell phone and the handgun described by the victim was recovered from the suspect vehicle. After further investigation the gunman was identified as Jasmin Francisco, b/m, birth date a/24/1990. 101 Corrine St Apt 2. New Iberia. La.
Francisco was arrested as a fugitive from Justice and is being held in the Iberia Pariah Jail. TPSO detectives obtained an arrest warrant for armed robbery for Francisco. He will be transported hack to Terrebonne Parish where he will face the char of armed robbery.
This case remains under investigation and mare arrest are expected to follow.
