Suspect arrested for attempting to take gun into jail in his buttocks

Authorities have arrested one and are looking for another in connection to a call of “suspicious activity” at a Golden Meadow house.

On Dec. 28, Golden Meadow Police Officers were called to a home on North Bayou Drive in Golden Meadow after being called by a citizen who said there were suspicious activities going on at the home.

Officers on the scene made contact with Justin Savoie, of Galliano, and Lori Dupuy, of Cut Off.

Dupuy gave authorities a false name and left the scene. Authorities then detained Savoie and discovered a handgun, a pipe and marijuana in his possession.

The suspect was taken to the South Lafourche substation and during a strip search, authorities said they found a small pistol in Savoie’s buttocks, which has led to additional charges.

Authorities also observed that while processing Savoie, his truck door was open and a “zip gun” was found on his floor board.

This led authorities to obtain a search warrant for the truck during which they located firearms and homemade suppressors.

Savoie is charged with possession of marijuana (1st offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, taking contraband into a penal institution and improper registration of a firearm.

He posted a $10,600 bond and is now free pending trial.

Authorities say they are still looking for Dupuy on active warrants by the Probation and Parole Board and charges from Golden Meadow PD.
