Larose man arrested for attempted aggravated arson


A Larose man is in custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after an alleged attempted arson earlier this year

On Jan, 14 at appraxinistely-9:30 am. deputies ware called to a disturbance at the home of Glenn Wilson Jr., 27. of Larose. in reference to a call of a disturbance.

When deputies arrived, they heard someone Tell to enter the residence from a side door.


Deputies on the scene noticed a strong odor of gasoline outside and inside the residence. They immediately-made contact with a handicapped man who said that Wilson was one of his caregivers. They also learned that Wilson had fled prior to deputies’ arrival

Because of the gasoline Email the handicapped man was talc-en from the residence and investigators from the State Fire Marshal were called to investigate a possible attempted arson..

Deputies on the scene continued to investigate the incident and learned that Wilson had been angry with his wife and the handicapped mail and he allegedly attacked them both


He allegedly attempted to strangle the man and a track his wife multiple tunes in the head and face while in the presence of children’

The other man attempted to call 911. but Wilson grabbed the phone and shattered it

At the time of the incident authorities tried to find Wilson, but were unsuccessful Following the investigation by the Fire Marshal and LPSO. warrants were obtained far Wilson’s arrest.


On Feb. 1, authorities mane contact with the suspect in Larose and he was taken into custody on the active warrants.

He is charged with attempted aggravated arson, cruelty to the infirmed. domestic abuse battery with child endangerment simple criminal damage to property and two counts of contempt of court

The suspect was booked into the Lafourche Parish. Correctional Complex on a $293,300 bond.


Convicted felon found with gun during stop

Lafourche Parish. Sheriff Craig Webre announced a convicted felon carrying a stolen firearm was arrested during a traffic atop in Bayou Blue on Thursday. Justin Johnson, 24, faces several charges in the incident as he also attempted to flee and Lad marijuana in his possession.

At around 11:15 a.ni on Thursday, February 7, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on LA Highway 316 in Bayou Blue During the course of the stop, deputies noticed the rear-seat passenger, later identified as Johnson, was not wearing a seat belt and appeared to be extremely nervous. He was asked if he had a weapon on him, and he said he did not While speaking to him deputies asked Johnson to step out of the vehicle. As he did. deputies noticed what appeared to be a handgun under his shirt At that point one of the deputies attempted to detain Johnson, hut he resisted As the deputy attempted to grab the firearm, a struggle ensued. and the handgun fell to the ground. As deputies secured the firearm. Johnson fled the scene on foot Deputies pursued, and he was taken into custody. Johnson was found to have a small amount of marijuana and a digital scale in his possession as well as $635 in cash. The firearm Johnson was carrying had a loaded extended magazine with a round in the chamber. The firearm was found to be stolen out of Port Allen, La., and Johns on was found to have a prior felony.


Johnson was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, Resisting an Officer, and no seat bell His bond is set at $78,600, and he la also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole
