BRONZE: E.D. White quarterback Ben Sposito – The most experienced starting quarterback in the Houma-Thibodaux area played like the season veteran that he is on Friday night against Vandebilt. Sposito completed more than 60 percent of his passes, while combining for four touchdowns in a season-opening win.

SILVER: South Lafourche’s offensive line – The Tarpons offensive line broke Bonnabel’s defense on Friday night. South Lafourche rushed for 400-plus yards in the win, thanks to stout blocking late in the game, which battered the Bruins defense.

GOLD: Central Lafourche athlete Anfernee Poindexter – Poindexter is quickly becoming a guy that you can’t miss watching on Friday night. A week after dominating the Trojans jamboree, Poindexter returned a kick for a touchdown to help the Trojans power past Patterson.
