CENTRAL LAFOURCHE — 42

VANDEBILT — 35

It will be hard for any other game to top this one for game of the year in 2016. This game had literally everything, including 11 touchdowns, multiple lead changes, last-minute turnovers and a goal line stand at the 1-yard line to seal the Trojans victory.

ELLENDER — 47

H.L. BOURGEOIS — 14

The Patriots get the first win of the David McCotmick Era in decisive fashion, walloping H.L. Bourgeois over at Terrebonne High School’s field. The Patriots have athletes galore, and they can score in abundance. They ate a much improved group — a team that s going to have a chance to win every, single time they take the field throughout the 2016 football season. Congrats to Coach McCormick

TERREBONNE — 38

SOUTH TERREBONNE — 6

South Terrebonne’s woes continued on Friday night and the Gators still haven’t yet scored an offensive touchdown on the season. For Terrebonne, their spirits are riding high, and a huge matchup with Assumption awaits.

THIBODAUX — 45

EAST ASCENSION — 24

Thibodaux was never going to stay down for very long. The Tigers drove down the field with ease on Friday night, scoring their first win of the season. Thibodaux is about to enter) a stretch of their schedule where they can do some damage.

CARVER – 28

SOUTH LAFOURCHE — 27

South Lafourche scored literally every time it had the ball in the first half, taking a 27-14 lead into halftime over the visiting Rams. But Carver made adjustments and stiffened. The end result was a comeback victory over the home Tarpons.

LAKESHORE — 27

ED. WHITE — 23

E.D. White lost a tough one on Friday night, dropping to 0-2 after a close tilt with Lakeshore. The Cardinals are young, and it’s showing on the field. By mid-season, they’ll be much better. They’re well-coached and they’re always ere of those teams that peak when the games matter most

CCA — 13

HANNAN — 12

People discount Gass 1A football, but folks, CCA has a really, really good club. The Lions are now 2-0 after a one-point thriller against Hannan. Next up is a stiff test from Gueydan — a team looking for its first win of the season. But the Lions are going to be up to the challenge. They ate easily one of the best teams in the always-loaded Division IV.

FALSE RIVER — 35

HOUMA CHRISTIAN — 14

The Warriors had an early lead, but it never materialized from there, falling to a very good False River team. The Warriors have a tough challenge Friday against a solid Sacred Heart team. Houma Christian is much better in 2016. Coach Chuck Battaglia is doing a good job working with those boys. That program has come a long way in a short amount of time. The school should be awfully proud.
