It’s that time of year again. Time Id break out the sappy cards, chocolates, a rid bubbly. But not for your significant other, as you might think No. These goods are far your girlfriends, your BFFs, your ride-or-dies, your Galentines.
This unofficial holiday of “ladies celebrating ladies,” affectionately known as Galantine’s Day, is celebrated on February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day. And it’s the perfect opportunity for you to show your friends just how much they mean to you. Galantine’s Day is all about sincere appreciation for the random middle-of-the-night text freak outs, the shoulders to cry on, the make-up tips, the coffee runs, and that ever important look of pure shock on their faces when you ask them if that outfit makes you look fat.
The holiday was actually first originated in a plot line of the television comedy Parks and Recreation in 2010, but has recently gained widespread popularity, due in Large part to social media.
