RAD course offered

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering a Rape Aggression Defense course only open to women at the Sheriff Craig Webre’s rifle range at the end of July. Applications must be submitted by Fri., July 24.

The class size is limited and attendance for all three nights of the course is mandatory for participation. A $10 fee to cover course materials must be pre-paid.


The classes will be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m. July 27, 28 and 29, at the range, 3451 Highway 182, Raceland. A registration form can be downloaded at www.lpso.net or call DeAnn Barrios, 449-4436.

KC Fais Do-Do set for Saturday

Enjoy some good food and good times at the Knights of Columbus Dulac chapter’s 2015 Holy Family Assembly.


The volunteer group will be hosting a night of music, dancing and food for attendees on Saturday, July 18 at their hall on Shrimper’s Row in Dulac.

Cajun Sunrise will play French, Country and Cajun music all night. Dinner will feature an entree of red beans and rice, green onion sausage, salad, bread and dessert.

There will also be door prizes and tickets for them will be $1 each. The cover to get in is $2. The meal is $7.


Doors open at 4 P.M. The meal will be served at 5 P.M. and will be served while supplies last. Cajun Sunrise takes the stage at 6 P.M. The event ends at 9 P.M.
