January 29, 2015New Raceland ag center offices open
The Raceland Agricultural Center officially opens today. A public open house is being held from noon to 2 p.m.
The center, located at 115 Texas St., underwent a $1.3 million overhaul, which included work on offices, bathrooms and the addition of a commercial kitchen.
The meeting barn and showroom were also improved.
Improvements were funded with a Gustav/Ike grant.
Terrebonne School Board elects committee members
The Terrebonne Parish School Board elected its committee members at last Tuesday’s meeting.
Roosevelt Thomas, Dr. Brenda Leroux Babin and Debi Benoit will serve on the executive committee.
Benoit, Thomas and Donald Duplantis will serve on the Finance, Insurance and Section 16 lands Committee, chaired by Benoit and vice-chaired by Thomas.
Gregory Harding, Richard Jackson and Roger Dale DeHart will serve on the Buildings, Food Service and Transportation Committee, chaired by Harding and vice-chaired by Jackson.
Babin, L.P. Bordelon and Vicki Bonvillain will serve on the Education and Policy Committee, chaired by Babin and vice-chaired by Bordelon.
Feb. 17 Terrebonne School Board meeting moved up
The Feb. 17 Terrebonne Parish School Board meeting has moved up to Feb. 10 due to Mardi Gras.
