Saints, Falcons, flexed to 3:25 p.m. kickoff

The final game of the New Orleans Saints season will kick off in a prime timeslot.

The NFL announced on Sunday night that the Saints game with the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday will kickoff at 3:25 p.m., making the game one of the league’s “National Games of the Week.”

The matchup is more important to the Falcons than it is to the Saints because Atlanta can earn a first-round bye in the playoffs with a victory.

For New Orleans, the game means nothing, except for pride and an opportunity to beat an in-division rival.

The Falcons beat the Saints in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome earlier this season – a victory that gave the Dirty Birds a leg-up in the NFC South race.

If victorious, the Saints can avoid a losing season for the first time since 2013.
