November 15, 2016Trump wins both Lafourche, Terrebonne
Citizens of both Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes agreed that Republican businessman Donald Trump should be the next President.
Trump carried Louisiana by a wide margin, earning 58 percent of the more than 2 million bal lots cast last Tuesday.
But that margin was even greater locally where Trump outlasted challenger, Democrat and United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, by a wide number.
In Lafourche, Trump earned 77 percent of the vote, with 31,959 voters pledging for him over Clinton, who earned 8,423 ballots.
In Terrebonne, the margin was just as wide.
Trump earned 73 percent in Terrebonne, securing 31,902 total votes, compared to Clinton’s 10,665.
Turnout was 70 percent in Lafourche and 67.9 percent in Terrebonne.
