E-mail scam alert in Terrebonne Parish

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of an on-going email scam.

Scammers threaten the victims with violence if they do not pay some money in exchange for their safety. The email is a scam and residents are asked to remain vigilant while checking their inboxes.

The emails are sent from an untraceable internet protocol address, the equivalent of a street address for the internet, from outside the United States.

If you receive one of these emails, ignore and delete the email from your inbox.

Call TPSO with any questions at 876-2500.
