Chicken dinner, parade/auction set

The Lafourche Fire District No. 1 will hold its annual Chicken Dinner, Parade and Auction on Sunday at the Raceland Ag Building. The event will also feature a Grand Marshall Toast, which will take place at the LFDIV Central Station, which is located at 112 St. Philip St., Raceland. That will begin at 10 a.m.


The parade will begin at 11.

Food will be served at $7 a plate, and raffle tickets and auction items will be for sale throughout the day.

Biddy Basketball World Championships climax today


The Biddy Basketball U8 Boys’ Nationals Tournament will climax today at the Harang Auditorium in Thibodaux. Beginning this afternoon (once school lets out), champions will be crowed in both the AA and A brackets.

Mad Hatter Tea Saturday

Southdown Plantation and Museum in Houma will host its first-ever Mad Hatter Tea Party on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.


According to event organizers, the event will feature characters from the Disney classic, as well as an Easter egg hunt.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children ages 10 and under. Reservations are required to attend. To reserve a spot, call 985-851-0154.
