Houma Police detectives are investigating the murder of 37-year-old Jewel Lamark at Daniel Turner Trailer Court early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after midnight after residents of the trailer park heard gunshots and found Lamark lying dead with a gunshot wound to the head alongside a vehicle.

Medicare Part D classes in Laf.
The Lafourche Parish Council on Aging will be hosting educational sessions this month on Medicare Part D. The sessions will cover the enrollment process. Open enrollment is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
Seniors will learn about Part D and Medicare Savings Plans LIS and MSP. Seniors may also go over their prescription plans with professionals by appointment.
The informational sessions will be held as follows:
• Thursday, Sept. 10, @ Larose Senior Center 307 East 5th St., Larose at 10:30 a.m.
• Monday, Sept. 14 @ Golden Meadow Sr. Center, 103 Ena Drive, Golden Meadow at 10:30 a.m.
• Sept. 28 @ Wilbur Tauzin Senior Center, 1531 La. Highway 20, Thibodaux at 7 p.m.
