June 2, 2016Checkpoint set for Laf.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies will be conducting a checkpoint on Thursday at an undisclosed location in the parish.
During the checkpoint, officers will be checking motorists for seat belt violations, as well as checking car seats, brake tags and other general vehicle inspections.
Swampland baseball returns to area
The Swampland baseball season will begin its latest season this week, featuring 14 teams from around the Houma-Thibodaux area.
The developmental high school league will have 14 playing dates, and will allow underclassman high school players the opportunity to compete in either varsity or junior varsity action.
The games are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week, weather permitting.
