Nicholls softball pitcher senior Hannah Haydel was named the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday morning.
Haydel earned the honor after going 2-0 during a weekend sweep of Central Arkansas, recording 15.2 scoreless innings in the three-game sweep.
At press-time, Haydel leads the Southland in ERA, and is third in strikeouts.
The Colonels will take on McNeese State in a three-game set this weekend in Lake Charles.
Coast Guard seeks panal members
The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking members for its National Boating Safety Advisory Council. There is no pay and the term of a member lasts three years. Candidates will be considered for two recreational boating vacancies.
