Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes will come together next week for the second-annual GiveNOLA Day for the Bayou Region.
Set for May 3, the day is part of GiveNOLA Day – a 24-hour online giving event sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Foundation to benefit nonprofit organizations that make our community stronger.
Last year, the entire effort raised $4 million in donations. The local fundraiser generated $40,000 from online donations, and this year’s goal is to exceed $50,000.

Lemonade Day
Local children will be setting up stands at Lemonade Day Saturday. The day, designed to teach children about running a small business, runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Houma Courthouse Square and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Market in Thibodaux.
