September 6, 2016Battle on the Bayou set for this weekend
The South Lafourche High School Battle on the Bayou Tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday at the school’s campus.
The two-day event will feature boys and girls brackets in five different age groups (U8, U10, U12, U14 and 10th-12th grade) and it costs just $50 to register a team.
On Saturday, the girls tournaments will be played to accomodate those in youth football leagues.
Sunday, the boys will play throughout the day.
Event organizers said all children around the area are welcome, and captains are allowed to make their own teams on a nine-player maximum basis.
The event will utilize the school’s two gyms and concessions will be offered throughout the weekend.
Deadline to register a team is today.
All proceeds go to South Lafourche High School.
