Local pro basketball player Sumar Leslie is safely in Australia, where she will spend the next six or so months as a member of the Werribee Devils.
She will blog exclusively for The Times during her adventure.
Leslie announced this week that she will send content to our paper in an effort to keep local fans updated about how she’s doing in her basketball endeavors.
Leslie, a Vandebilt graduate and Houma native, did something similar when she played in Puerto Rico in 2013, sending content to our publication for posting – a feature that was one of the most popular and wellread segments in recent history.
“I am happy and grateful for a paper like The Times, because they do so much for the local sports community,” Leslie said. “It’s my honor to give my little slice of life to such a wonderful paper that is run by such wonderful people.”
