June 15, 2017LSU to take on Florida State in College World Series
Well, the LSU baseball team did it.
One season after having their hearts broken in the 2016 Super Regional at the hands of Coastal Carolina, the Tigers conquered their demons and advanced to the 2017 College World Series with a series sweep over Mississippi State.
The Tigers’ position in the CWS was on shaky footing early in the series with the Bulldogs. LSU trailed 3-0 in the eighth inning of Saturday night’s first game before pounding home four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to seal the comeback win.
In Sunday’s rain-altered ballgame, LSU led almost throughout, pounding Bulldogs’ pitching for 10 hits in a 14-4 win.
With the victory, LSU is now just one of eight teams left in the field.
The Tigers will take on Florida State this weekend.
