A pair of Thibodaux brothers are charged with a home burglary.


On Sunday night, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a residence in the 400 block of Rue De Cypress in Thibodaux in reference to a home burglary.

Deputies on the scene found the rear door to the residence was forced open and they learned that jewelry, two firearms and several tools were stolen during the break-in.

Through investigation, detectives obtained a description of the two suspects and got a make of the suspect’s vehicle.


Through that, authorities were able to identify Mark Tardo, 23 and his brother Austin Tardo, 21, both of Thibodaux, as suspects in the incident.

Patrol deputies made contact with the brothers on Bobcat Lane in Thibodaux and they allegedly had stolen property from the burglary in their possession at the time, as well as a drug only available by prescription and drug paraphernalia.

Both brothers are charged with simply burglary, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Austin Tardo’s bond is set at $55,500. Mark Tardo is also charged with an outstanding warrant for contempt of court for Thibodaux City Court. His bond is set at $56,500.
