Road construction on La. Highway 3090 in Port Fourchon

Construction began today on the shoulders of Louisiana Highway 3090 in Port Fourchon.

Officials with the Greater Lafourche Port Commission issued a warning to drivers to use caution when driving through the construction zones.

The work is in preparation for the Department of Transportation and Development’s Highway 3090 resurfacing project.

Louisiana Highway 3090 is also known as A.O. Rappelet Road or Fourchon Road. The resurfacing is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 17.

The project will first focus on drainage and road base work and should only cause spots of the highway to be reduced to one lane of traffic.
