Video of two students engaged in a sex act at a Houma-area school was widely shared with others who attend the school, investigators confirmed Friday.

Investigation of the incident at Covenant Christian Academy ended with the arrests of two students in connection with the taking and distribution of the video, and no further action is expected.

Capt. Dawn Foret of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the boys, both aged 15, surrendered to detectives Thursday morning. The girl who is on the video is the victim of the crime. The boys, both 15-years-old, were each charged with one count of video voyeurism.

Because they are juveniles, authorities did not identify them.

Detectives are not certain if the girl knew the video was being made.

The boys were brought to the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center and then freed after a $5,000 bond was posted for each of them.

According to authorities, one of the boys engaged in a consensual sexual act with the girl in a car parked on the school premises. Using a cellular phone, the second boy videoed the encounter.

The video was “distributed to multiple other students,” detectives said.

According to Foret, the act allegedly occurred during the first week of December and law enforcement was notified Dec. 7.

Jason Hutchinson, the school’s principal, confirmed that authorities were notified when administrators learned of the alleged actions.

“Beyond that I have no comment,” Hutchinson said.

The sheriff’s office said further action was taken by the school, Violation of some of its regulations, the school handbook says, can result in expulsion.
