Belanger elected to NADO board


Kevin Belanger, CEO of the South Central Planning & Development Commission in Houma, was elected to the National Association of Development Organization’s 2015-16 board of directors at NADO’s annual business meeting in October.

“We are honored to have Kevin serve on NADO’s board of directors,” said Joe McKinney, NADO executive director. “He brings a wealth of expertise, knowledge and leadership on regional communities and economic development issues to the national level. Most importantly, Kevin is focused on helping our nation’s local communities pursue comprehensive regional strategies for remaining economically competitive in today’s rapidly changing global environment.”

Danos taps 3 to senior post


Marc Distefano, John Danos and Jack

Roszelle have been appointed to leadership positions within Danos.

“We are pleased to welcome Marc, John and Jack to the Danos team,” said CEO and President Hank Danos. “Their expertise and experience will help us ensure we are delivering outstanding results for our customers.”


John Danos (no relation to the company’s owners) serves as construction division general manager, working to develop a best practices foundation for the way Danos executes projects in conjunction with the project management group. Prior to joining Danos, he held leadership positions at J. Ray McDermott, International Offshore Services, International Construction Group and Harvey Gulf International Marine.

As fabrication operations manager of the Amelia facility, Distefano is responsible for overall leadership of the facility and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement. Prior to joining Danos, Distefano held leadership positions at Alison Marine Contractors, Conrad Industries, Alliance Consulting Group, U.S. Army, Shell and Enron Corporation.

Roszelle will serve as corporate quality director, overseeing quality control and quality assurance. Prior to joining Danos, he served as vice president of quality for Dynamic Energy Services International LLC, and area quality manager for the Americas region with McDermott Inc.


Bollinger promotes Blackburn

Brent Blackburn was recently named Bollinger Shipyards’ director of engineering.

“Brent has been a key contributor to Bollinger’s success in leading our proposal and estimating efforts on the major governments programs the company has pursued over the years,” Ben Bordelon, company president and CEO said in a release.


Blackburn has more than 16 years of experience in the U.S., shipbuilding and maritime industry. He joined Bollinger in 2004, working in various key engineering, estimating and proposal roles mainly focusing on the company’s government programs. He got his start at Bollinger as a project engineer and rose steadily through the engineering and technical design departments. Blackburn was promoted in 2014 to technical manager.

Winstead awarded medical fellowship

Dr. Teddy Winstead, the primary physician at the Houma Digestive Health Specialists, was recently awarded fellowship in the American College of Gastroenterology. He is the only digestive specialist in the Houma/Thibodaux region to receive this honor.


The fellowship is given to those with significant professional achievement and superior competence within the field of gastroenterology, pediatric gastroenterology, gastrointestinal surgery, gastrointestinal radiology or gastrointestinal pathology.

“The American College of Gastroenterology is a preeminent, national medical association of gastroenterologists,” Winstead said. “I am honored to accept this distinction in the gastroenterology community.”
