Shirley Marie Lirette, a native of Houma and a resident of Chauvin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the age of 89.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Father Joey Lirette; granddaughters, Keli (Derrick) Boudreaux and Lori (Sam) White; great-grandchildren, Jaryn, Jaydi, and Isla; and brothers, Raymond (Claudette) Authement and Huey (Ruth) Authement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lirette; son, Dean Lirette; and parents, Mildred and Robert “T-Bob” Authement.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes during this time, especially Debbie Authement, who took special care of her. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners and being with her family and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her family has comfort in knowing she is at peace.
In lieu of flowers, Masses can be given at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, West Park is in charge of arrangements.
