BettyRine “Bet” Ruffin, 69, a native and resident of Gibson, La., died Thursday, July 22, 2010.


Mrs. Ruffin was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. She was an usher and homemaker.

She is survived by her devoted friend, Samuel Dangerfield; sons, Gregory Sr. and Timothy Johnson; daughters, Gwendolyn Ingram, Peggy Evans and Melissa Henyard August; brothers, Belvin, Gerald, Floyd and Peter Ruffin; sister, Ruth Diggs; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Pauline Green Ruffin; and two brothers, Rufus Jr. and Larry Ruffin Sr.

She is buried at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery
