Kennedy blasts high cost of Louisiana living

Louis Gene Santiny, 65, a native and resident of Grand Isle, La., died Monday, October 1, 2007, at 12:12 a.m.
He is survived by his two sons, Louis “Gene” Santiny, Jr. and Carleton “Dean” Santiny; one daughter, Margaret Santiny; one brother, Jerry Santiny; three sisters, Louis Autin, Amy Santiny, and Elizabeth Perkins; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Santiny; his parents, Clairville and Emma Denette Santiny; three brothers, Clement, Irvin, and Rogers Santiny; and one sister, Anna Mae Broussard.
Louis was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 9, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
