Albert Dardar Sr., 82, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Pointe-Aux-Chenes, died Monday, March 30.

He is survived by his son, Albert Dardar Jr. and wife Elizabeth; daughters, Irene Verdin and husband Cherry, and Suzanne Rodrigue and husband Johnny; brothers, Whitney, Edward and Edwin Dardar, and Antoine and Edwin Billiot; sister, Ana Mae Billiot; step-daughter, Gwendolyn Verdin; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Louise Fitch Dardar; brothers, Herman, Nolan, Gilbert Dardar and Junius Billiot; sisters, Romona Ambrose, Albay LeBouef and Arline Dardar; and great-grandchild, Kobie Verdin.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at Live Oak Baptist Church in Point-Aux-Chenes. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with burial at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Pointe-Aux-Chenes.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
