Dr. Kevin Breaux, an associate professor of accounting, has been tapped to lead the executive master of business administration program at Nicholls State University.
“I have been part of the EMBA program since its inception,” said Breaux, who served as the accounting professor for the first course. “I am very excited to be assuming this new responsibility, allowing me to be involved with the program in its entirety and building long-term professional relationships with its participants as they develop skills that will move them forward in their professions.”
Launched in 2007, Nicholls’ EMBA program is designed to provide professionals an opportunity to obtain an advanced business degree. The program offers Saturday classes, online study and group projects, making it more attractive to students and their employers.
In response to high demand, NSU’s College of Business Administration offers two EMBA classes concurrently – at the Barker Family Executive Classroom in Houma’s Duhe’ Building and, on campus, at the Michele D. Guidry Executive Classroom.
Breaux succeeds Dr. Luke Cashen, associate professor of management and director of Nicholls’ MBA program.
“Dr. Cashen has done an extraordinary job with the EMBA program and will continue to offer the same level of service and dedication to the traditional program,” said Dr. Shawn Mauldin, dean of Nicholls’ College of Business Administration. “I am confident that Dr. Breaux will provide the leadership to ensure that we continue to offer a quality EMBA program in the Bayou Region.”
Breaux received degrees from Nicholls and Louisiana State University. A licensed CPA, he began teaching accounting at Nicholls in 2003. Prior to that, he worked at Warren Hohensee Accountant Inc. in Raceland and Gulf Coast Manufacturing Inc. in Houma.
