Rea Reaux Gilbert, 92, a native of Milton, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
Mrs. Gilbert worked as the home demonstration agent for Lafourche and Assumption Parishes for many years. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, the Thibodaux Business and Professional Women’s Club, Bayou Women’s Club, Louisiana Home Demonstration Agents Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. She volunteered at a local nursing home for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Gilbert; sister-in-law, Shirley Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anatole and Virginia Reaux; brother, John Reaux; and sister, Rita Hamilton.
Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Joseph co-Cathedral with mass to follow. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
