Roland M. Chiasson, 86, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died Friday, Feb. 22, at 7:29 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Rema Acosta Chiasson; sons, John and Mark Chiasson; daughters, Susan Schenken, Ruth Aucoin and Melissa Chiasson; brother, John Victor Chiasson; grandchildren, Danielle Fitzpatrick, Nassim Kashani, Michel Aucoin, Evan Schenken, Matt Chiasson, Macy Chiasson, Rema Schenken, Cyd Aucoin, Gabriel Aucoin and Adrienne Aucoin; and great-grandchild, Aiden Fitzpatrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Helen Rodrigue Chiasson.
He was a teacher and coach at LCO and South Lafourche High School, a World War II Marine Veteran, a Hiroshima Veteran and a Silver Star recipient.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, La., and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a mass of Christian burial Thursday, Feb. 28, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose. He will be buried at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Homes of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
