Bessie Marie Lodrigue, 87, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010.


She is survived by sons, Jimmie (Wendy), Lawrence (Eva) and Anthony (Evelina) Lodrigue Jr.; daughters, Gloria (Horace) Crappel and Mary (Easton) Gregoire; sisters, Cecile Guidry, Rita and Donita Lacoubon and Walterine Billiot; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Frere” Lodrigue; parents, Justillian William and Florence Lodrigue Lacoubon; sons, Henry Lodrigue and infant son; grandsons, Richard and McShane Lodrigue; daughters, Florence DeFelice, Bessie Welch and Effie McVay; brothers, Albert and Joseph Lacoubon; and sisters, Eunice Billiot and Lorraina Parfait.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel.

Mrs. Lodrigue will be buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
