Authorities warn of Internet scam

Thibodaux Police Chief Scott Silverii said this week that he is warning citizens about an Internet scam that is costing victims several thousands of dollars.

Police said that the scammer then asks the seller to send back the money leftover.

In many cases, police have been reported that victims have sent the left over money back only to realize that the original check bounced.
