After a long offseason of hard work and training, finally, it’s time to play some baseball.
The Nicholls baseball team will open its 2019 season today at 1 p.m. against Southern Illinois – the beginning of a three-game weekend slate at Didier Field.
Playing at home is something the Colonels will do a lot this season. The Colonels play their first nine games at home – all the way through February.
Nicholls rides into 2019 with momentum. The Colonels made a push in the Southland Conference Tournament last summer and the team returns several contributing players off last year’s club.
Against Southern Illinois, the Colonels will be facing a club that finished 28-30 last season.

Saturday – 2:30 p.m.
Sunday – noon.
