Desire “Zee-Zee” DeHart, 78, a native of Houma, La., and a resident of Theriot, La., died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at 2:30 p.m.

He is survived by her five sons, Desire, Preston, Russell, Kenneth, and Chad DeHart; six daughters, Brenda Porche and her husband Johnny, Rita Duplantis, Penny Lirette, Rinda Matherne and her husband Henry, Oledia DeHart and her husband William, and Betsy Matherne and her husband Lynn; one brother, Herman DeHart; one sister, Evelyn Domangue; 39 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Ann Boudreaux DeHart; his parents, Herman and Maggie Lovell DeHart; one daughter, Bertha Parfait; five brothers, Raymond, Willis, Wilbur, Irvin, and Freeman DeHart; and three sisters, Adeline DeHart, Merline Scott, and Verlin Authement.

Desire was a devout Episcopal and a parishioner of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He served his country during the Korean War and was a member of V.F.W. Post 43 in Dulac, La.

Visitation is Friday, August 10, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 11, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. He will be buried in St. Eloi cemetery in Theriot.

Falgout Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
