Robert “Snow” Bourgeois Sr., 87, a native of Lutcher, La., and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Monday, August 6, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Livian Breaux Bourgeois; three sons, Robert “Bobby” Bourgeois Jr., Eddie C. Bourgeois and Tommy F. Bourgeois; two daughters, Elmire Barrios and Anne Blanchard; two brothers, Floyd and A.J. Bourgeois; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Bourgeois and Elmire Haydel Bourgeois; his foster parents, Eddie and Anita Menuet; and two brothers, Francis “Lutcher” Bourgeois and Eddie “Bud” Bourgeois.

Robert was a U.S. World War II Army veteran. He was a staff sergeant, received the Silver Star and raised the American Flag over Cologne. He served 28 years on the Napoleonville Town Council and the School Board for six years. He was a Texaco employee for 36 years. He was a loving husband to his wife Livian for 60 years.

Visitation is Thursday, August 9, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of the arrangements.
