“The 18th Star: Treasures from 200 Years of Louisiana Statehood,” through Jan. 29. Features an array of signature items from the HNOC to tell stories that have defined Louisiana since its entry into the Union on April 30, 1812 as the 18th state.


“Prospect.2 art installation in Brulatour Courtyard,” Wednesday through Sunday (excluding holidays), from 6 to 10 p.m., through Jan. 29. New media artist Dawn DeDeaux employs her sense of space, light and media to transform the courtyard into “Goddess Fortuna and Her Dunces In An Effort To Make Sense Of It All.”

“In Katrina’s Wake: Restoring a Sence of Place,” through March 3. Photographer Stephen Wilkes’ documentary of the damage wrought by Katrina in Bay St. Louis, Miss. and the Holy Cross neighborhood of New Orleans’s Ninth Ward. These two historic communities were united through disaster and the exhibit covers the struggle to preserve the inherited and social culture that are integral to their neighborhoods.

“New 3-D video of historical New Orleans,” shown Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Produced by Walter Williams, creator of the Playdough character Mr. Bill of “Saturday Night Live” fame, the 11-minute video includes images taken between 1865 and 1930.
