On Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6-8 p.m., Nicholls State University President Jay Clune and his wife Allison Clune will join the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities in celebrating the release of 64 Parishes magazine’s newest issue at Arlen B. Cenac Greenhouse on Nicholls’ campus. The issue, which is on stands now, looks at calamities and catastrophes in Louisiana and how the state confronted events like floods, fires, and, in the cover story, the financial fiasco of the 1984 World’s Fair.

64 Parishes magazine is published by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, the state affiliate for the National Endowment for the Humanities, and it chronicles Louisiana history and culture. At the event Editor-in-Chief Erin Greenwald and Senior Managing Editor Chris Turner-Neal will not only discuss the new issue but also look back recent stories from Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes, reflecting on the history and culture of the Bayou Region.

This event is free and open to the public. Complimentary beverages and light bites will be available. For more information about 64 Parishes magazine visit 64parishes.org.
