The South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center along with the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum have announced their featured local author for December’s holiday-themed “LouisianaLIT” program at the museum.

December’s featured author will be Pat Hornsby Crochet, author of Randolph Saves Christmas. “Owww-ooo, something is waking up every critter in the Louisiana swamp. It’s Randolph, the loud-mouthed coon dog! Who knew that a pup so small could howl so big? He is so loud he might even scare Santa away!” reads the book’s official summary. “Poor Randolph hides deep in the swamp where he hopes no one will hear him. He never imagined that his late night baying would actually save the day as he leads a new friend out of the swamp in this delightfully original holiday tale with a familiar feel. Complete with a new version of the classic Christmas song about a certain reindeer who was also a little bit different, this adorable holiday adventure is sure to have readers of all ages howling with delight!”

Crochet will be at the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum for the Christmas LouisianaLIT event on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. for an interview and book signing. Admission is $3 for adults, and $2 for kids. Attendees are encouraged to wear their Christmas pajamas for this interactive reading!
