Girls on the Run Bayou Region is excited to announce their 12th Annual Reindeer Run 5K! This non-competitive, 5K running event will take place on Sunday, December 3, 2023 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Bayou Country Sports Park.
“Our annual Reindeer Run is hosted at the end of our 10-week, youth-development after-school program for our girls,” explained Aimee Johnson, Council Director. “The girls have been practicing so hard for this event, and are very excited to participate in the 5k and get in the holiday spirit!”
Not only is the Reindeer Run 5k a fun and exciting activity to celebrate Christmas, but all the proceeds will go towards the scholarship funds for those local girls involved in the program.
Girls on the Run Bayou Region wants to invite any members of the public to participate in the run, and all finishers will receive a medal. Participants are invited to show up in Christmas or holiday themed costumes to celebrate the event! The post-race celebration will begin immediately after the run, and will include food, music, and family-fun activities.
Registration for the Reindeer Run 5k will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 1:00 p.m. If you are interested in registering for the run in advance, please click here.
