Southdown Plantation & Museum is excited to present their first annual Winter Wonderland Family Fun Event! Come out for a day of holiday cheer on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. at Southdown Plantation, 1208 Museum Drive in Houma.
“This is something that we have been wanting to do for a long time,” said Celeste Landry with Southdown Plantation & Museum. “We will have Cajun and traditional Christmas celebrations all through the Winter Wonderland, so there will be something for everybody. We are so excited to bring a free Christmas event for the entire community to enjoy.
The Winter Wonderland will include free activities such as photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, face painting, balloon art, Christmas crafts and movies, and train rides with snow; and $5 admission activities, including six inflatable bounce houses and a petting zoo. The schedule for the day will be as follows:
- Stage #1 (Yard)
- 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m: Blake Dehart
- 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m: Tet Dur
- 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m: Cliff Hillebran
- Stage #2 (Pavilion)
- 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m: Christmas movies
- 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m: Face painting/Balloon art
- 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m: Tuba Band
- 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m: Christmas movies
- Stage #3 (Porch)
- 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m: Papa Noel and Shella Ledet
- 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m: St. Eloi Choir
- 7:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m: Harvest School Choir
- 7:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m: Harvest School Live Nativity
The Winter Wonderland will also offer delicious food and refreshments, including: Hamburgers, sliders, gumbo, potato salad, hot dogs, meat pies, Philly cheese steaks, spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp tempura, loaded fries, nachos, boudin balls, chicken cracklins, chicken tenders, french fries, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, Banh Mi poboys, flamin’ salad, fried shrimp, fried rice, egg rolls, chicken wings, chicken strips, smoked sausages, chili bowls, gourmet mini cakes, gourmet cookies, crab rangoon, pineapple delights, cotton candy, soft drinks, lemonade, sweet tea, water, beer, daiquiris, and wine.
