Big Boy’s Main Street Cook-Off | November 10 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Historic Downtown Thibodaux– Paid admission lets you sample Louisiana-inspired dishes from 30+ teams while enjoying live music at the hottest cooking competition on the bayou! Burgers and soft drinks will also be available for purchase and alcoholic beverages (for guests 21+ years of age) will be sold by downtown bars and restaurants.

Vandebilt Catholic Annual Veterans Day Ceremony | November 10 from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. | Brother Alfred Kolb Center- The Vandebilt Catholic Key Club is set to host the annual Veterans Day Ceremony honoring all active and former military personnel. Guests are welcome to enjoy breakfast in the cafeteria at 8:30 a.m., followed by the ceremony in the Kolb Center at 9:20 a.m. There will be performances by the Vandebelles, as well as the Vandebilt Catholic choir and symphonic band. The speaker for this year’s ceremony will be Mr. Wilber Lewis.

Rodeo Night at BTD | November 10 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. | Bayou Terrebonne Distillers– Get down, turn around, go to town…it’s gonna be a boot scoot boogie at BTD! Time to show off your stuff like John Travolta in Urban Cowboy. Take a whiskey shot, join in on a line dance and ride the mechanical bull! Make sure to dust of that cowboy hat too because there will be a best dressed cowboy and cowgirl contest! There will be a $5 cover at the door, cowboy.


Live After 5 | November 10 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. | Downtown Houma- Live After 5 returns to Downtown Houma this November! Join the fun starting at 5 p.m. with Seth & Gina at the Rotary Centennial Plaza followed by Sheauxdown at 7 p.m. in the Courthouse Square.

The festival will showcase a variety of arts and crafts booths, three lively music stages, a delectable food court, a car show, the thrilling rubber duck race on Bayou Lafourche, and more.

Regional Military Museum’s Thank You to Veterans | November 11 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. | Regional Military Museum– As an appreciation to veterans, the museum will offer a homemade pancake breakfast served by volunteers on Veterans Day. Participants will also enjoy free tours of the museum. In addition, Vets United has organized a motorcycle procession that will line up at 8:30 a.m.

Duck Derby Extravaganza, Houma Elks Lodge #1193 | November 11 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Downtown Houma Bayou Park– Prepare yourself for a day filled with energy and fantastic festivities, all while raising funds for programs that provide support to charities including Veteran Services and TARC. From duck races, to live music, delicious food and drinks, and activities, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy!

Houma Terrebonne Marine Corps League 2023 Birthday Ball | November 11 from5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. | Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Rifle Range- Get ready to celebrate the Marine Corps League’s birthday in style at our 248th Marine Corps Birthday Ball! Join an evening filled with camaraderie, entertainment, and honor.  This year’s Birthday Ball promises to be an unforgettable experience, bringing together Marines, veterans, and supporters from all walks of life. Dress to impress in your finest attire as we commemorate the Marine Corps’ rich history and traditions. The night will be filled with exciting activities, including a guest speaker, a delicious dinner, music, dancing and karaoke. Raise your glasses during the traditional cake-cutting ceremony, honoring the legacy of the Marine Corps and its brave members. Tickets are $40 can be purchased here.

Luminate Houma | November 11 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. | Lumiere Blues & Jazz Bistro–  Due to the construction being done on the boardwalk around the Memorial Park, this family friendly event will be held inside Lumiere Blues & Jazz BistroGuest artists will be Steve Judice singer/songwriter; Barry Hebert. Come on out and listen to the songs and stories of some very talented songwriters! In addition to great live music, everyone is encouraged to bring goods that will be donated to Bayou Youth Equity Foundation: Mom’s Pantry. Items like peanut butter and jelly(containers only), cereal, canned redbeans, pasta & pasta sauce, fruit chews, and canned fruit.

Thanksgiving Luncheon | November 12 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Houma Municipal Auditorium– The Krewe of Hercules will host their annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for the elderly and needy. Free food and drinks, along with entertainment by Philip Cheramie, will be provided. The Council on Aging will provide transportation.
