Two Larose men are charged with attempted first-degree murder after they allegedly shot a man after a dispute.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said that on April 4, LPSO was called in reference to a shooting down East 23rd Street in Larose.

Authorities said the caller stated that a bullet had grazed a male suspect in the head. The victim was airlifted to University Hospital in New Orleans, but was treated and released on the same day.

Detectives started an investigation and learned that the male victim was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle driven down East 23rd Street by a female.

As the vehicle moved down the street, two male subjects, one allegedly armed with a handgun, approached the vehicle and ordered the driver and passenger to get out the car.

The victims were then forcefully removed from the vehicle, and one of the males suspects allegedly punched the male victim.

The suspects then fled the scene on foot, and then allegedly fired two rounds back at the male victim. The shots grazed his head.

Through investigation, detectives developed Laquindin Randle, 20, and Travonta Caine, 21, as suspects in the case.

On April 8, LPSO learned that Randle was in St. John the Baptist Parish. They worked with deputies there to arrest the suspect and take him into custody.

He was booked on a warrant on charges of attempted first-degree murder.

His bond is set at $100,000.

On Monday, LPSO said Caine turned himself over to deputies, and he, too, is charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Authorities said the investigation into this matter is ongoing, and detectives say additional charges are possible.
