A Houma teenager was arrested last week by the Houma Police Department after she allegedly took money out of the cash register at Walmart.

On April 9, HPD received a complaint of internal theft at the Eastside Walmart, located at 933 Grand Caillou Road, Houma.

During investigation, authorities learned that a store employee, Ieshia Boudreaux, 17, of Daniel Turner Trailer Court, was caught by a manager taking money from her register.

Authorities said they learned through investigation that the suspect had allegedly been stealing money since early March, and the total taken was approximately $5,000.

Boudreaux was contacted – both by store management and law enforcement.

Authorities said she fully cooperated with the investigation, handing over $600 to authorities which she allegedly took on April 9 during her shift.

Authorities arrested Boudreaux without incident, charging her with theft.

She was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail where she awaits bail.
