The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating an overnight shooting, which took place in southern Lafourche Parish. 

At around 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, LPSO said it received a call in reference to a shooting in Larose.


LPSO Public Information Officer Lt. Brennan Matherne said the shooting reportedly occurred on East 23rd Street. 

Authorities said they learned that a male subject was grazed in the head by a bullet in the incident, but no further details are yet known.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, then transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans via an airlift.


The victim is expected to recover.

Lafourche Sheriff Craig Webre wants the public’s help in solving this case.
