A 43-year-old Gibson man is in custody of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly burglarized a house.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on the morning of April 2, deputies were called to the 5700 block of North Bayou Black Drive in reference to a residential burglary that had occurred.

A deputy arrived on the scene and made contact with the home owner, who said that someone broke into his residence and took a weed eater, a DVD player and an electric trimmer.

The owner of the home said he believed his residence had been broken into twice in the past two days.

During investigation, authorities received information that Christopher Seymore, 43, of 116 Jarvis St., Gibson, had been attempting to sell the items stolen from the home.

Authorities went to Seymore’s home and made contact with him about the burglary. During questioning, authorities said he admitted to stealing from the house twice in two days.

Seymore was arrested and charged with two counts of simple burglary of a residence.

He was given a $20,000 bond.
