A 26-year-old convicted felon is charged with attempted murder and other charges after he allegedly tried to rob his ex-girlfriend and another man.
The suspect is now in jail after being shot in a struggle during the robbery.
On Aug. 11, Houma Police Department officers were called to the 100 block of Samuel Street in reference to a shooting.
Officers on the scene located Henry Allridge Jr., 26. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Allridge was then taken via ambulance to a local medical facility for treatment.
Authorities investigated and learned that Allridge was the wrongdoer in the case.
He allegedly arrived at the home of an ex-girlfriend while armed with a semi-automatic shotgun.
The victims, a 22-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were attempting to enter the residence when Allridge approached them. The suspect allegedly tried to rob the man, then struck him with the gun.
A struggle ensued and during it, two shots were fired, including one which struck Allridge in the lower leg.
At that point, the victims disarmed Allridge and secured him until officers arrived on the scene.
Authorities also located suspected heroin on Allridge’s possession at the time of his arrest.
Allridge was hospitalized following the incident. He was released Aug. 13. Upon his release, he was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, attempted armed robbery, attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery, possession of heroin and illegal carrying of a weapon while in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
